USDA Certified Organic Almonds

Frequently mentioned in biblical and historical texts, almonds have a rich history. The Egyptians were known to prize them—in fact, King Tutenkhamen took several handfuls of almonds with him to his tomb. The bible regards almonds as a symbol of divine approval, and Romans were known to shower newlyweds with almonds as a fertility charm. Almonds, which are technically fruits, have been in the news lately for their amazing nutritional value. The FDA recently issued a statement noting that almonds may help reduce the risk of heart disease. Almonds are high in Vitamin E, Selenium and other antioxidants, and are low in saturated fat. They are thought to play a role in cancer prevention and lowering of cholesterol. Our almonds boast a two year shelf life and are processed in a facility that does not handle peanuts.
